Contribution — evaluation of the player's season actions expressed in $, without extrapolating to a full season if the player has fewer games than his team for any reason (injury, scratching, etc.)

Paid Contribution — the same as Contribution for actions represented in NHL official statistics

Unpaid Contribution — the same as Contribution for actions not represented in NHL official statistics

Power Score — the player's Paid Contribution extrapolated to a full season (per 82 games for NHL). It matches the Cap Hit (annual average salary) that the player will deserve for the season based on his stats during this one season only if he plays all games during the Regular Season

Value — Cap Hit (annual average salary) for a short-term that the player has deserved to this point based on his stats over 5 years and that will be a low-risk term for a team

Squad Value — total Value of all players on the team roster
Players Value — total Value of all players on the rosters of all teams in the league

Player Rating — rating of the players in the league based on Contributions also including Paid Contributions, Unpaid Contributions, Power Scores, and more
Team Rating — rating of the teams in the league based on Squad Values
Prestige Rating — rating of top professional leagues based on Players Values
Team Prestige Rating — rating of top professional teams based on Squad Values

STATS

Corsi — Any shot attempt, including blocked, missed, saved, and goals (except shootout attempts)

Fenwick — Any unblocked shot attempt, including missed, saved, and goals (except shootout attempts)

Shot on goal — Any shot attempt on net, including saved and goals (except shootout attempts)

Goal — Any goal (except shootout goals)

Expected Goals — The probability that a shot will result in a goal. We used eXtreme Gradient Boosting library (XGBoost) for building prediction models. The 647 thousand shots missed and on goal (including penalty shots and excluding shootout attempts) from the 2018-2019 season to March 2024 were divided 70/30: 70% for train and 30% for validation. There are models for EV, PP, PK, and EN situations each of which is an ensemble of 1000 decision trees

Power — The skater's Contribution (or Value in some rare cases) in the regular season or Playoffs per second that has been reached before the game multiplied by the TOI (seconds) in that game and divided by 1 thousand for convenience. Reflects the difficulty of the rivalry level against the skater

W — Wins (worth two points)

SO — Shutouts. Games when the goalie lets in 0 goals for the full duration of the game prior to the shootout

High danger — High danger Fenwick against. The Fenwick against the goalie with an xG of 0.15 or greater

Medium danger — Medium danger Fenwick against. The Fenwick against the goalie with an xG of 0.08 or greater and less than 0.15
