The current Value of the forward is $7 455 695.

Timo Meier signs an extension with the New Jersey Devils. Per Pierre LeBrun, the new contract is 8-year with an average annual value of $8.8 million. This is $1.3M more than the 26-year-old forward's current Value, which is $7 455 695, and is the best achievement in his career, according to Benchrates algorithm.

While maintaining the pace of progress, Meier will need 1 year to confirm the numbers in the new contract. He increased his Value only by 10% or $707 235 in the 2022-23 season. And it seems to be a very slow pace. But the Value chart shows that the entire amount was achieved after the trade to the Devils in February, and Timo not only did not progress but even reduced his Value by $67K in the San Jose Sharks.

Notably, the winger added $1.7M to his Value in the 2021-22 season, and then the number increased immediately by 34%.

If Meier repeats his best progress by playing in a strong team with skilled teammates, then he will reach or exceed his new Cap Hit in the 2023-24 season. In terms of Value, he is already the 4th-best player on the New Jersey Devils after Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and Jesper Bratt, and he has good odds of getting into the TOP-3.
