The current Value of the forward is $6 248 340.

Pierre-Luc Dubois was traded from Winnipeg Jets to the Los Angeles Kings after signing an extension. Per Chris Johnston, it is a max 8-year contract worth an average annual value of $8.5M. According to Benchrates algorithm, this new Cap Hit is $2.3M more than the player's current Value, which is $6 248 340 and near the career-high result.

Dubois had a successful contract year. His Value was only $5M and $5.4M after finishing two previous seasons, but in the 2022-23 season, he added $834 704 to this indicator. As the Value chart shows, the forward did not allow failures and was consistent, especially in the regular season. His best performance came in the game against the New Jersey Devils on April 2, when he increased the Value by $103K overnight.

In the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs Dubois hit a career-high $6 269 940 Value. After that, the indicator decreased several times until the Jets were eliminated by the Vegas Golden Knights. Pierre-Luc finished the season as the 3rd-best team player after Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.

Today the 25-year-old Canadian is the 4th-best player in the Kings and ranks 92nd in the NHL. The centers with similar Values are Nazem Kadri and Ryan O'Reilly. Right now the deal looks like an overpaid. But by playing in a contender team with a deep Playoff run, Dubois can add $1M or more to his Value in a season and catch up with his new Cap Hit in a couple of years.
